Program Goal:
The main goals of the program in to:
Expose Nepali women to the broader international arena of
women in Sports;
Promote the importance of sports as a means for bridging
cross-cultural differences and conflict and engendering attitudes
which enhance cooperation, peace and development;
Provide an opportunity to learn more and discuss about common
issues, particularly women in sports and their participation in decision
marking level;
Expose others to the development needs of Nepal, particularly
those relating to young women.
Expected Results (impact, outcome and output):
It is expected that the Program will have following impact on the
participants:
Those participating will demonstrate an increased confidence about
themselves and their capability to express themselves and take a leadership
role;
Those participating will demonstrate increased participation in
decision making in sports as well as in other areas;
Those participating will leave with an increased knowledge regarding
the women's issues presented and discussed at the festival and be
prepared and able to share it with other women with whom they work;
and
Other women will be influenced by those attending this festival
and will also develop increased confidence about themselves and their
capability to express themselves.
Target Group
Around 100 women in sports will be invited to attend the seminar.
Among them:
30-40 women will be those involved in sports activities in various
locations of Nepal. Preference will be given to those in decision-making
level.
25-30 persons at the national level who are involved with women
in sports, including the various sports federation/ groups/ organization.
5-10 Experts and paper Presenters (International).
30-35 international participants from all over the world representing
various organizations associated with women in sports and tourism
organizations.
